Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or using SpeechStep, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. This version is terms-2026-08-26; we show this sentence and record which version you agreed to when you create your account, so you can always ask us which wording you accepted and when.

Cookies. SpeechStep needs a few strictly necessary cookies to sign you in and keep your session secure; these are always active. One optional cookie, which records only how you found the site, is set only if you accept it in our cookie banner, and you can change that answer at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer. Declining does not limit your use of SpeechStep. Two things we load from other companies — the cal.com booking calendar and, if you subscribe, the payment provider’s checkout — set their own cookies, and each loads only if you choose to open it. Full detail is in section 13 of the Privacy Policy.

2. What SpeechStep is

SpeechStep is an AI-assisted speech-practice tool for children, used by a parent or guardian. It offers guided practice, pronunciation feedback, progress tracking, and free informational tools.

4. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of any child who uses SpeechStep through your account. You are responsible for your account, for supervising your child’s use, and for the accuracy of the information you provide. Keep your sign-in email secure.

5. Parental consent & recordings

Recording features are off until you turn them on and grant consent; until then no audio is sent to us or stored. You may withdraw consent at any time. By enabling recording you confirm you are the child’s parent/guardian and consent to the processing described in the Privacy Policy and Children’s Privacy page.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service unlawfully, or for anyone other than a child in your care.
• Upload audio of a person without the right to do so, or upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content.
• Attempt to breach security, access other users’ data, scrape, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
• Resell or commercially exploit the service without our permission.

7. Intellectual property

SpeechStep, including its software, content, models, and branding, is owned by WebMobi (Mendios Technologies Bangalore Pvt Ltd) and its licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use the service for your family’s use. Your data remains yours; you grant us the permissions described in the Privacy Policy to operate the service.

8. Plans & payment

Some features may be free and others paid. Prices and billing terms are shown to you before you purchase. Paid plans other than the one-time purchase are subscriptions that renew automatically until you cancel. Our Refunds & cancellation policy sets out the renewal amounts, what happens when a free trial ends, how to cancel, how to ask for a refund and who processes it. That policy forms part of these terms. Where no paid plan applies, this section has no effect.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that scoring is accurate, that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will meet your requirements. See section 3.

Your statutory rights. Nothing in this section limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law. Where consumer-protection law where you live gives you a warranty or guarantee that cannot be excluded, it applies whatever this section says, and you do not need our agreement to rely on it. Sections 14.3 and 14.4 say the same thing for the EU, the UK and India specifically.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WebMobi and its affiliates from claims arising out of your misuse of the service or your breach of these terms.

12. Termination

You may stop using SpeechStep and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or to protect the service or its users. On termination we handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to the service & terms

We may update the service and these terms. We will change the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, notify you. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

14. Governing law & disputes

14.1 Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The contracting entity is Mendios Technologies Bangalore Pvt Ltd, whose registered office is in Bengaluru, Karnataka (full details at the end of this page), and the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have jurisdiction — subject to sections 14.3, 14.4 and 14.5, which give you rights this section cannot take away.

14.2 Resolving a dispute

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the service is resolved as follows:

1. Informal resolution first. Contact us at legal@webmobi.com and we will try to resolve the dispute within 30 days.
2. Arbitration. If informal resolution fails, a dispute may be referred to binding arbitration under the Indian Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seated in Bengaluru and conducted in English.
3. Individual claims. You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive any right to participate in class actions or class-wide arbitration — except where sections 14.3, 14.4 or 14.5 apply, and except where such a waiver is unenforceable.
4. Small claims and consumer forums. Either party may instead bring an individual action in a small-claims court or consumer forum that has jurisdiction.

14.3 EU and UK users

If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights, including your right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence. The class action waiver does not apply in jurisdictions where it is unenforceable.

14.4 Indian users

If you are a user in India, disputes may be resolved in accordance with the Indian Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, or you may approach the consumer forums under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

14.5 Everywhere else

Wherever you live, nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law, including any right you have to bring proceedings in the courts of your own country. Where those rights give you more than these terms do, they win, and you do not need our agreement to use them.

15. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
